

Two Korean films have secured the 1st and 2nd places at the box office, continuing their momentum.
According to the integrated ticket sales network KOBIS, during the weekend of January 24-25, 〈Once We Were Us〉 and 〈Choir of God〉 maintained the 1st and 2nd positions at the box office. Both films were released on December 31, 2025, and have successfully drawn audiences through word of mouth, achieving long-term screenings.
〈Once We Were Us〉 is a melodrama starring Kim Kyoo-hwan and Moon Ga-young, depicting a story of a man and woman who evolve from friends to lovers but ultimately part ways, only to reunite after time passes. Based on the Chinese film 〈In the Distant Future, We〉, it captures everything from sweet moments to passionate love, and the coldness of a breakup, with the two actors' performances delivering the emotions impressively, receiving much acclaim from audiences.
〈Choir of God〉 deals with the story of North Korea creating a 'fake choir' to receive $200 million in support. It is based on a true story shared by a defector and features the chemistry of various actors including Park Si-hoo, Jung Jin-woon, Tae Hang-ho, Jang Ji-geon, Han Jeong-wan, Ko Hye-jin, Moon Kyung-min, and Choi Seon-ja.
