Breaking a 3 year and 9 month hiatus, the group BTS has already rewritten K-pop history even before their comeback. Two months ahead of the album release, they achieved the remarkable feat of surpassing 4 million pre-orders.

The agency Big Hit Music announced on the 23rd that the 5th studio album 'Arirang', which began pre-sales on the 16th, recorded 4.06 million pre-orders in just one week as of the 22nd, according to the album distributor YG Plus.

This figure significantly exceeds the pre-order amount of BTS's previous album, the 4th studio album 'Map of the Soul: Seven', which recorded 3.42 million pre-orders in its first week upon release in 2020 and eventually surpassed 5 million in cumulative sales, setting a new milestone in K-pop album sales.

Following the album release, the world tour performances scheduled for April 9th, 11th, and 12th at Goyang Sports Complex have all sold out early. All tickets were sold out immediately upon opening, proving BTS's powerful fandom. Additionally, extra performances have been confirmed for the shows in Tampa and Stanford, further expanding the scale of the global tour.

Prior to this, BTS is set to present a large-scale comeback stage at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21st. The Seoul City has granted conditional approval for the use of Gwanghwamun Square for the performance requested by HYBE and Big Hit Music. The comeback stage of BTS at the historic site of Gwanghwamun Square is expected to be recorded as a symbolic moment in K-pop history.
