"Unexplainable Fear"... Kiyoshi Kurosawa's New Film 'Chime' Set to Release in March

Official Selection at the Berlin International Film Festival... Launch Trailer Released with Overwhelming Tension

Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, who terrified audiences worldwide with films like 'Cure' and 'Pulse', returns with his new work 'Chime'. Distributor Dios Cinema announced on the 26th that the film 'Chime' is confirmed to be released in March and has unveiled its launch trailer.

'Chime' tells the story of a cooking class instructor, Matsuoka, who becomes engulfed in unexplainable fear after hearing a strange remark from a student that "the sound of a bell can be heard." The released trailer provides a chilling atmosphere with the tagline, "It definitely exists in this world," interspersing mechanical noises and bizarrely distorted scenes of the cooking class, delivering breathless tension in just a few seconds.

This work is the first original film from the Japanese media platform Roadstead, officially invited to the Berlinale Special section of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, gaining recognition for its artistic quality. International critics have praised it as "madness floating like air", "one of the best horror films of the year", and "a master’s skill in establishing its own time and space with just a few shots".

The film 'Chime', showcasing a chilling auditory horror that penetrates everyday spaces and Kiyoshi Kurosawa's unique directorial style, is set to meet audiences in theaters this March.
