The documentary 〈2000 Meters Andrivka Front〉 capturing the scenes of the Russia-Ukraine war has confirmed its release in South Korea this February.
〈2000 Meters Andrivka Front〉 is a remarkable work selected as one of the 15 preliminary candidates (shortlist) for the Best Feature Documentary category at the 98th Academy Awards to be held in 2026. The film portrays the horrific scenes through the eyes of soldiers in the Russia-Ukraine war. By shifting the camera's perspective to the soldiers' view, it combines helmet body cam footage with on-site recordings to penetrate the interior of the battlefield.
The team behind 〈2000 Meters Andrivka Front〉 released a teaser poster along with the news of its South Korean premiere on February 12. The poster prominently features the face of a soldier on the front lines, intuitively capturing the gaze and tense moments amidst the battle. The texture of the helmet, equipment, and the dust that is roughly caked on emphasizes the reality of the battlefield and clearly reveals the direction of the record captured by the film.
Meanwhile, 〈2000 Meters Andrivka Front〉 is the latest work by director Myroslav Chernov, who previously dominated the Academy Awards with 〈20 Days in Mariupol〉.
