‘Tanyontail’ Heo Gwang-han, Won Ye-rim, and Director Gong Jo-pyeong Present the 'Worldview Introduction Video'!

Director Gong Jo-pyeong explained, “〈Tanyontail〉’s one year in the adult world is equivalent to one day in the youth world,” describing the film's unique concept of time.

A world where a day flows as a year, and another world where a day flows as a day. The fantasy romance 〈Tanyontail〉 depicts the love of two people who meet in different speeds of time, and it is generating excitement among audiences with the release of its worldview introduction video ahead of its premiere on January 28.

First, Director Gong Jo-pyeong stated, “〈Tanyontail〉 is about the different worlds of the adult world and the youth world, where one year in the adult world is equivalent to one day in the youth world,” explaining the film's unique concept of time. He added, “The character ‘Teito’ living in the adult world meets ‘An Jin’, who is 28 years old and came from the youth world when he was 13, and the story is about Teito loving An Jin for a lifetime,” hinting at a one-of-a-kind poignant fantasy romance. Actor Heo Gwang-han, who plays ‘Teito’, explained, “The adult world is severely lacking in medical resources, making the medical environment very poor. Therefore, the medical staff from the resource-rich youth world form the ‘Pigeon Medical Team’ to provide medical services across the gravity wall to the adult world. It is a unique love story where ‘Teito’ and ‘An Jin’ meet and love begins there,” sparking curiosity.

Actress Won Ye-rim also shared, “The world where my character ‘An Jin’ lives flows very slowly. Therefore, in the adult world, one has to wait a year for a day in the youth world, and this setting is the most special part of our movie,” urging anticipation for the film. Finally, they concluded the video with a cheerful message, saying, “Everyone, please take a lot of interest in our movie and look forward to it!”

Meanwhile, the film 〈Tanyontail〉 marks the return of Heo Gwang-han, known as ‘Asia’s First Love’, and has recorded a rapid sell-out of all screenings at the 30th Busan International Film Festival, hinting at a global box office phenomenon. This work is the first feature film directed by Director Gong Jo-pyeong, who has honed his skills as an assistant director on major Hong Kong films such as 〈Ip Man 2〉 (2010) and 〈The Unbeatable〉 (2018), and has been recognized for its solid artistic quality by being selected for the ‘Mythical Project’ that supports new talents in the Hong Kong film industry. Additionally, the legendary figure of the Taiwanese film industry, Sylvia Chang, who received the ‘Camelia Award’ at this year’s Busan International Film Festival for her contributions to female creators in Asian cinema, has fully supported the production, screenplay, and mentoring, elevating the film's quality to its peak.

Furthermore, the production team includes the best masterpieces in Asia, such as the sound director of 〈Days of Being Wild〉 (1990) and 〈In the Mood for Love〉 (2000), and the art director of 〈The Eye〉 (2000), showcasing the pinnacle of fantasy romance. In particular, the poignant narrative of the two characters unfolds within the unique setting of time and space, harmonizing with the OST ‘Momentary Moment’ by the top singer-songwriter JJ Lin, leaving an unforgettable impression on the audience, and is expected to color the theaters this winter with a warm love that surpasses the legendary romance of [Your Eyes].
