The first tech horror of 2026 is coming to audiences through smartphones.

On the 30th, production company Heart People announced that the film 〈The App That Calls Ghosts: Young〉 is set to be released exclusively in CGV on February 18. The film 〈The App That Calls Ghosts: Young〉 depicts the bizarre phenomena that occur when a ghost detection app called 'Young', developed for fun by students of Sangrim High School's club, unlocks the seals of forbidden places. The premise that a mysterious app, which cannot even be deleted, randomly installs itself on anyone with a smartphone and begins a curse hints at a new paradigm of reality-based horror.

In particular, this film stars Kim Gyunam, the lead of the sketch comedy YouTuber 'Dipp', who has 2 million subscribers, generating high expectations. Kim Gyunam plays the role of 'Harim', a realistic youth who does not believe in ghosts, convincingly portraying everything from the mundane struggles of daily life to the moment of being utterly shattered in the face of extreme fear.

Additionally, Anupam, the global star from 〈Squid Game〉, plays 'Suneta', who steals private lives, adding a chilling tension, while veteran actress Kim Hee-jung takes on the role of 'Nayun', a special cleaner, expressing the moment when everyday objects become mediums of curses with great intensity.

〈The App That Calls Ghosts: Young〉 will be available at CGV on February 18.
