Hirokazu Kore-eda's new film 〈The Sheep in the Box〉 will land in Korea this summer.
The acclaimed director Hirokazu Kore-eda, known for films like 〈Nobody Knows〉, 〈A Family〉, and 〈Monster〉, presents his original new work 〈The Sheep in the Box〉, for which he took on the roles of screenplay, direction, and editing. Set to be released in Korea this summer, 〈The Sheep in the Box〉 tells the story of a family that accepts a humanoid resembling their deceased son in a near-future setting.

The poster released alongside the announcement of the upcoming release features a boy who appears ordinary but is actually a humanoid child, sparking curiosity. The newcomer Rimu Kuwaki, selected from over 200 participants in auditions, plays Kakeru and the humanoid resembling him. Additionally, the trailer hints at an unusual family atmosphere with the presence of the beloved Japanese actress Haruka Ayase as the mother Otone and Daigo as the father Kensuke, raising expectations for the new 'form of family' they will create.
The thought-provoking film 〈The Sheep in the Box〉, which presents the most beautiful yet chilling portrait of a family by the world-renowned master Hirokazu Kore-eda, will be available in Korea this summer.
