Rising stars that Chungmuro is paying attention to have gathered in front of the brutal horror of water.
The movie 〈Salmokji〉 starring actors Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, and Jang Da-ah confirmed its release date for April 8 on the 11th and unveiled a chilling first trailer.
〈Salmokji〉 deals with the bizarre events that a filming crew encounters as they head to a reservoir in pursuit of an unidentified figure captured on a map app's road view. A silhouette that has never been filmed fills the screen, and through a struggle with 'something' that gradually reveals its identity in the black, deep water, it aims to push the audience into extreme psychological pressure.
This work is the first solo feature film directed by director Lee Sang-min, who has consistently carved his own mark in the horror genre. Director Lee Sang-min has previously learned genre grammar through short films 〈Hamjinabi〉 and 〈Dollimchong〉, and has built his filmography up to the upcoming release on February 18 of 〈App That Calls Ghosts: Yeong〉.
The performances of the actors in the unveiled trailer also catch the eye. Starting with Kim Hye-yoon as the PD Su-in, who whispers "Salmokji" in fear, Jang Da-ah as Se-jeong conveying a sinister aura, and Lee Jong-won as Gi-tae, who is consumed by swamp-like horror, the fear experienced by the seven characters intersects and heightens the tension. In particular, the last line, "You can't get out alive from there," hints at the depth of the inescapable horror that the film will present.
The movie 〈Salmokji〉 will be released in theaters on April 8.
