JTBC's new Saturday-Sunday drama 〈We Are All Trying Here〉 presented an overwhelming immersion from the very first script reading, raising expectations. In the recent rehearsal scene, Director Cha Young-hoon and Writer Park Hae-young were joined by leading actors Goo Kyo-hwan, Go Yoon-jung, Oh Jung-se, Kang Mal-geum, Park Hae-jun, Bae Jong-ok, Choi Won-young, Han Sun-hwa, and other representative actors from South Korea.

The protagonist that immediately caught attention was Goo Kyo-hwan. He took on the role of Hwang Dong-man, a film director who is effectively unemployed, and delicately portrayed the anxious inner turmoil that wavers between reality and ideals. His uniquely realistic performance dominated the scene, breathing life into the character of Hwang Dong-man.

Go Yoon-jung played a film company PD named Byeon Eun-ah, known as 'Axe', who coldly and sharply reviews scripts. While projecting a sharp charisma outwardly, she expressed the character's profound inner wounds in a multi-dimensional way, hinting at her acting transformation. Notably, there is growing interest in the chemistry with Hwang Dong-man, where they will come to understand each other's deficiencies.

Oh Jung-se took on the role of Park Kyung-se, a successful director who constantly struggles to prove his worth, convincingly unraveling a complex inner world intertwined with inferiority and desire. The joining of talented actors like the production company representative Ko Hye-jin (Kang Mal-geum), the heavy presence of Hwang Jin-man (Park Hae-jun), and movie company representative Choi Dong-hyun (Choi Won-young) heightened the tension of the drama.

The performance of veteran actors also stood out. Bae Jong-ok played the role of top actress Oh Jung-hee, who pursues perfection, while Han Sun-hwa portrayed the honest and charming actress Jang Mi-ran. They formed a peculiar relationship where they appear kind on the outside but fiercely compete on the inside. Additionally, the solid acting of the supporting cast, such as Jeon Bae-soo and Sim Hee-seop, who are grouped as 'The Eight', is expected to portray the realities of envy and solidarity in the film industry.

〈We Are All Trying Here〉 captures the process of those who feel left behind among outstanding people seeking their own worth. The insightful dialogues characteristic of Writer Park Hae-young, who previously wrote 〈My Liberation Notes〉 and 〈My Mister〉, combined with Director Cha Young-hoon's warm direction, promise the birth of another 'life drama'.

JTBC's 〈We Are All Trying Here〉 will premiere on April 18 at 10:40 PM.
