〈Moana〉 has once again boosted anticipation with the release of the main poster and a second teaser trailer.
The film 〈Moana〉 is a live-action adaptation of Walt Disney’s 2016 animated feature of the same name, and it made headlines for bringing Dwayne Johnson—who previously voiced Maui in the animated original—onto the live-action project as well. Announced for a July release, 〈Moana〉 shared the main poster and a second teaser trailer on March 24, signaling that the premiere is just around the corner.
In addition to Catherine Laga’aia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, the main poster also faithfully recreates the franchise’s signature mascot characters, Hey Hey and Pua—raising expectations even further. From Moana and Maui standing against a backdrop of dynamic waves, you can catch a glimpse of their on-screen chemistry.
The second teaser trailer, which was released as well, offers even more content. Not only Catherine Laga’aia and Dwayne Johnson, but also multiple scenes that deliver an uncanny resemblance to the original—such as Kakamora and Te Ka—were unveiled, showcasing visuals that captivated both original fans and newcomers alike.
Set for worldwide release in July 2026, 〈Moana〉 is directed by Thomas Kail, who previously directed the musicals “In the Heights” and “Hamilton.”
