[Photo&] BTS’ “Arirang” Hits No. 1 for the 7th Time on Billboard 200… Record-High Group Achievement in U.S. and U.K. Album Charts

Group BTS grabbed the No. 1 spot on the U.S. album chart with their regular album No. 5 “Arirang” (ARIRANG), conquering both of the world’s two major charts following their sweep in the U.K.

On the 30th, the U.S. Billboard announced that “Arirang” topped the main album chart “Billboard 200.” This marks BTS’ seventh overall No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

During this tracking period, “Arirang” recorded 641,000 album units, achieving the highest-ever group figure since December 2014, when Billboard 200 began counting album units. Of the 532,000 copies sold in physical albums, 208,000 were LPs—BTS’ biggest LP sales for a group since tracking began in digital data.

Having already taken over the U.K. Official Album Chart’s “Top 100” on the 28th, “Arirang”, with its title track “Swim” (SWIM), is also expected to challenge for No. 1 on the “Hot 100,” the Billboard singles chart, as early as the 31st.
