Jun Ji-hyun and Ji Chang-wook to Star Together… JTBC’s “Human X Gumiho” Set for 2027

“Jun Ji-hyun”·“Ji Chang-wook” Starring, “Human X Gumiho” Confirmed as One of 2027’s Most Anticipated Dramas

Two of South Korea’s leading actors, “Jun Ji-hyun” and “Ji Chang-wook,” will team up for an irresistible “fantasy romantic comedy” in JTBC’s new drama “Human X Gumiho.” JTBC officially announced that the series will be scheduled as a flagship release in the first half of 2027.

“Human X Gumiho” tells the story of a 2,000-year-old gumiho who lures people with fatal charm and a human who has been given a fated, supernatural connection—to draw in otherworldly beings. In the drama, “Jun Ji-hyun” will take on the role of Gu Ja-hong, a top star who captivates audiences, signaling a bold new acting transformation. Facing her, “Ji Chang-wook” will play Choi Seok, a gifted shaman and curator of a museum, and the two are expected to spark a distinctly compelling romantic chemistry.

A formidable supporting cast and special appearances further raise expectations. Ji Woo-kyung, CEO of Woo Kyung Entertainment—the only person who knows Gu Ja-hong’s secret—will be played by actor “Cha Joo-young,” while Ko Tae-seung, the deputy director of the museum, will be played by “Kang Yoo-seok.” In addition, major actors including “Hwang In-yeop,” “Kim Seol-hyun,” and “Lee Jae-in” have confirmed special appearances, rounding out the lineup.

The production team is equally impressive. Writer “Im Me-ari,” known for hit romance stories, will be in charge of the script, and director “Kim Sung-sik,” praised for his distinctive direction, will helm the project—promising a polished, story-driven fantasy romance.
