〈The King's Warden〉 has surpassed 16 million viewers.

According to the Integrated Ticketing Network for Movie Theater Admissions, 〈The King's Warden〉 drew 94,406 viewers on April 5, bringing its cumulative audience count to 16.09 million. Starring Yoo Hae-jin and Park Ji-hoon, 〈The King's Warden〉 tells the story of a deposed young king and a village chief who ends up taking care of him from exile. It is the latest work from director Jang Hang-jun, who also directed 〈Light Up the Writer〉, 〈Night of Memory〉, and 〈Rebound〉, and it not only achieved the best box-office performance among his works, but also reached the #3 position in South Korea’s all-time box office history.

Now, attention is turning to whether 〈The King's Warden〉 can topple the all-time #2 film 〈Extreme Job〉. Released in 2019, 〈Extreme Job〉 amassed a total of 16.26 million viewers. 〈The King's Warden〉 will reclaim second place if it brings in more than 170,000 additional viewers.
