The film 〈Night Flight to Los Angeles〉, John Travolta’s directorial debut, will be released on Apple TV+ (Apple TV+) on May 29.

On the 12th, Apple TV confirmed the release date of 〈Night Flight to Los Angeles〉, which received an official invitation to the Premiere section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, and unveiled a poster and trailer. The story follows a once-in-a-lifetime journey as Jeff, a boy who loves airplanes (Clark Shortell), and his mother (Kellye Eberston-Quinnet) board a nighttime flight bound for Hollywood.

The film is based on a book of the same title that John Travolta himself wrote. Nominated for two Academy Awards and a winner of Golden Globes and Emmy Awards, John Travolta not only took on the challenge of directing for the first time, but also handled the screenplay, narration, and production to lead the story.

Set against the backdrop of aviation’s golden age, the film unfolds through Jeff’s narration and perspective as he gets to fly for the first time, capturing the romance and adventure of an era of passenger aircraft—from in-flight meals to kind flight attendants (Ella Blue Travolta, Olga Hoffman), memorable passengers with distinct personalities, and the scenery of first class.

Co-produced by John Travolta’s JTP Films (JTP Films Inc) and Kids At Play, 〈Night Flight to Los Angeles〉 will screen at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival as a world premiere, after which it will be streamed worldwide via Apple TV on the 29th.
