ZEROBASEONE’s Park Gun-wook has bowed his head amid a manipulation controversy.
Manipulation of Polaroid Giveaway Raffle Exposed The reason Park Gun-wook ended up uploading a lengthy apology was the Polaroid giveaway event manipulation controversy that surfaced at a recent in-person fan-signing event. At the time, fans who were filming the scene in real time captured footage of Park Gun-wook calling out a specific number other than the one he had supposedly drawn through the raffle. In the end, it amounted to being caught after trying to arbitrarily manipulate an event for fans, and the fact quickly spread online, leaving many—including fans who were at the site—with deep disappointment and anger.
Offers a Sincere Apology Via a Fan Communication Platform In response, Park Gun-wook posted a message on the 5th on a fan communication platform, acknowledging his mistake and apologizing. He wrote, “At the scene, I should have judged and acted more carefully, but I couldn’t. I’m taking very seriously the fact that I caused confusion and hurt to many people,” adding that he regretted his actions. He also reiterated his intention to not take the matter lightly and to sincerely reflect, apologizing for not showing a side that matched the care fans have always sent.
Apologizes to Members and Staff, Vows to Grow Park Gun-wook also conveyed his regret not only to the fandom ZEROZ, but also to the ZEROBASEONE members who trusted him and the staff who were working hard alongside him at the venue. He bowed his head and said, “Going forward, I will act more carefully, and I will sincerely reflect and grow so that I can become someone who will not be ashamed of the trust you send.” Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE, which Park Gun-wook belongs to, released its sixth mini album, ‘Ascend-’ (어센드-(Ascend-)), last month and is carrying out active comeback activities.
