〈NirvanaTheBandTheShow__’s two leading stars have returned the love from Korean audiences with a message of thanks.
The duo of Matt and Jay in 〈NirvanaTheBandTheShow__—unrelated to the legendary band ‘Nirvana’—first met 17 years ago when they hatched a ridiculous plan to build a time machine for a performance. 〉(hereinafter 〈NirvanaTheBandTheShow__…) opened on May 20 and surpassed 80,000 viewers by June 26. In response, 〈NirvanaTheBandTheShow__’s stars, Matt Johnson and Jay McCarroll, released a video expressing their gratitude to Korean audiences.
Matt Johnson and Jay McCarroll said they were happy to be with Korean audiences, but they also traded jokes about “digital,” putting the movie’s humor on display again. They then delivered lines that were unclear whether they were jokes or heartfelt remarks—saying, “I want to go to Korea,” and “I’ve liked Korea since long before BTS showed up.” Finally, they asked, “Why do you like this film?” and looked disappointed that they didn’t get an answer, since it was not a live event.
〈NirvanaTheBandTheShow__ depicts the awkward journey of two friends who end up taking a time trip while trying to perform at a famous club. The film was imported by Moon Sang-hoon, who runs the BBAderNus channel, and musician Tablo took part in the translation work, drawing major attention even before its release.
