The third installment of the global box-office animated series 〈Angry Birds〉, 〈The Angry Birds Movie 3: Save Bird Island!〉 (The Angry Birds Movie 3), is confirmed for a domestic winter release. Lotte Entertainment, the film's local importer and distributor, unveiled the first poster and trailer on July 30 as it announced the release.
The film is a sequel to the world-famous mobile game-based 〈The Angry Birds Movie〉 (2016) and 〈The Angry Birds Movie 2〉 (2019). The two previous installments have together grossed more than $500 million worldwide (about 690 billion won), establishing the franchise as a box-office success.
The first poster and trailer show a twist on Red's life: the former troublemaking hero is now the father of three. This installment introduces the new 'Angry Family,' led by Red's wife 'Silver' and their first child 'Glider,' who is entering adolescence, their second daughter 'Jun', and the baby bird 'Ollie,' who together drive the story.
In the trailer, returning fan favorites 'Chuck' and 'Bomb' step in to help Red tackle the chaos of parenting. As Red juggles nonstop parenting and a new mission to protect peaceful Bird Island, the film plays out as a lively action-adventure.
〈The Angry Birds Movie 3: Save Bird Island!〉 is directed by John Rice and features voice performances by Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Emma Myers, Rachel Bloom, Walker Scobell, and Danny McBride. The film will open in theaters nationwide this winter.
