Park Hae-joon Joins 〈Nambeol〉, Set to Play Leader of Waegu Raiders

Park Hae-joon has joined the cast of 〈Nambeol〉, the upcoming hard‑boiled martial‑arts action film set in the early Joseon era, where he will appear alongside Lee Byung-hun.

Hive Media Corp. said on the 28th that Park Hae-joon has been confirmed for the hard‑boiled martial‑arts action film 〈Nambeol〉 and has begun preparing for filming.

〈Nambeol〉 is set in the early Joseon period and follows nine warriors, each with different skills and social ranks, who head to Tsushima Island to rescue prisoners taken by Wako. Park Hae-joon will play Miyoshi, the leader of a Wako group based on Tsushima Island. Miyoshi is a cold, ruthless figure who will stop at nothing to achieve his ambitions and objectives. In the film, he forms a tense rivalry with Im Eok (Lee Byung-hun), the leader of the warriors who set out to rescue the prisoners and fight the raiders, driving the film's tension.

The project is the directorial debut of veteran cinematographer Lee Mo-gae, who has delivered distinctive mise‑en‑scène on a string of major Korean films such as 〈Seoul's Spring〉, 〈Pamyo〉, 〈Hunt〉 and 〈Emergency Declaration〉. Production is by Hive Media Corp., the company behind 〈Seoul's Spring〉, 〈The Man Standing Next〉 and 〈Inside Men〉, with Hive Media Corp. and Park Hae-joon teaming up again in a partnership built on trust.

After unveiling cast members including Lee Byung-hun, Go Yoon-jung, Lee Do-hyun and Cho Seung-yeon (WOODZ), 〈Nambeol〉 is now in preproduction and targets a shoot start in the second half of 2026.
