Lee Min-ho Turns Fearless Rookie Reporter in New Character Stills for 'The Assassin(s)'

Hur Jin-ho's 〈The Assassin(s)〉 has released new character stills of Lee Min-ho as Yeong-il, a hot-blooded rookie reporter.

〈The Assassin(s)〉 explores the suspicions and forces behind the August 15, 1974, shooting of the First Lady that shocked South Korea. Lee plays Yeong-il, a rookie reporter at the Dongsung Ilbo who witnessed the attack and saw an innocent victim up close at the Liberation Day ceremony. Troubled by the gap between the official investigation results and what he saw, he charges ahead in search of the truth.

The character stills show Lee Min-ho in moments ranging from a pensive, serious look with a loosened tie and rolled-up sleeves to a sharp gaze at a press conference. The stills highlight the rookie reporter's grit and drive as he digs into the case, undeterred by the risks.

Lee Min-ho, who has gained international recognition through the drama series 〈Pachinko〉 and 〈Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint〉, co-stars with Yoo Hae-jin as Cheol-gu, the detective who handled the crime scene, and Park Hae-il as Jae-hwan, the social affairs department chief who examines the case's underside. 〈The Assassin(s)〉, which was invited to the Gala Presentations section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, is scheduled to open in theaters during this year's Chuseok holiday.
