The sixth evolution of a 1 trillion-won box-office phenomenon introduces an unfamiliar lead, Gemma

The horror franchise 'Insidious', which has earned $740 million worldwide (about 1 trillion won), continues with its sixth story. Opening on the 20th, 'Insidious: They Came Through' focuses intently on the strange events that befall Gemma, an ordinary dental hygienist, and her daughter. In Pittsburgh, Gemma (played by Amelia Eve) is raising her daughter alone. Her peaceful routine is quickly transformed into a chilling nightmare as mysterious entities begin to appear.

From 'The Further' into the real world, the terror of the red door engulfs a dental office

Production company 'Blumhouse' moves beyond the story centered on the Lambert family and medium Elise, choosing a new narrator. Gemma possesses a special ability that connects the living world with 'The Further,' the realm beyond death. The film also expands its primary setting for horror into everyday spaces. Gemma's workplace, a dental office, and the home she shares with her daughter become sites of horrific threats. Demons cross through the red door during dental treatment or crawl out from beneath the sofa, intensifying the kind of realistic horror that seems to touch the audience's skin. The new demon 'Cyrus' (played by Sam Spruell) adds visual menace with grotesquely long hair and fingernails as he rallies the demons of 'The Further.'

A tightly connected mythology, the return of familiar demons and suspense

Even with its new story, the franchise preserves its continuity. Medium 'Elise' (played by Lin Shaye), along with iconic demons from earlier installments including 'the Lipstick-Face Demon,' 'the Bride in Black' and 'the Bride Doll,' appears to meet longtime fans' expectations. 'Jacob Chase,' who demonstrated his directing skills with the films 'Bad Boy' (2025) and 'Connect' (2020), takes the director's chair. The film runs 106 minutes and is rated for audiences ages 15 and older.
