Set for release Oct. 9, 〈Charge Me Up〉 is an electrifying romantic comedy about a man whose artificial-heart battery has run down and a woman with electrical powers. The addictive K-rom-com adds a fresh premise, while the romantic chemistry between Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin is fueling global fans’ anticipation and raising questions about the relationship between Baek Ho-rang (Kim Young-kwang) and Na Bo-bae (Chae Soo-bin).

The newly released “romance charging” stills capture moments of tingling, electric excitement. Baek Ho-rang and Na Bo-bae, shown side by side in patient gowns, signal the start of an extraordinary connection. Na Bo-bae’s curious expression as she stares intently at Baek Ho-rang, then stops his approaching lips, sparks further intrigue. As the story progresses, the distance between them gradually closes, heightening the romantic tension. Their “charging contract” — Baek Ho-rang’s attempt to recharge his depleted artificial heart and Na Bo-bae’s effort to complete her romance screenplay — sets these changes in motion.

As the pair grow closer, their “romance gauge” begins to rise along with the battery charge. Baek Ho-rang’s gaze toward Na Bo-bae grows increasingly intense, while the fluttering in Na Bo-bae’s expression and smile as she looks at him is unmistakable. Stills from the pair’s sweet dates are also drawing attention. Images show Baek Ho-rang lifting Na Bo-bae into his arms, celebrating her birthday with her and enjoying an amusement-park date that brings her romantic dreams to life, promising viewers plenty of heart-pounding moments.

Director Park Soo-won, who helmed the series, said, “The key appeal of 〈Charge Me Up〉 is the emotional journey of Baek Ho-rang and Na Bo-bae as they endure an intense period of denial while falling for each other.” He explained, “The central concept is their relationship: the protagonist’s battery runs down when they are apart and charges only when they are together. With Baek Ho-rang’s heart battery depleted, he has no choice but to stay pressed against Na Bo-bae, his human power bank, whether he likes it or not. So, despite being the third-generation heir to a conglomerate, he must become completely subordinate when it comes to charging. That dynamic will be one of the drama’s most entertaining elements.” He added, “I think it will be a romantic comedy that moves deliciously between sweetness and electricity, rapidly recharging viewers’ enjoyment. The lovable comic chemistry between Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin becomes even more entertaining with each episode, so please look forward to it.”
