In the drama 〈Trigger〉, Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang, who play the righteous police officer Lee Do and the mysterious villain Moon Baek, respectively, conducted interviews on the 29th at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
In 〈Trigger〉, the character Moon Baek appears alongside the serious and contemplative police officer Lee Do. Initially, Moon Baek appears as a mysterious ally who helps Lee Do solve cases, but by the end of the drama, it is revealed that he is the villain orchestrating all the events from behind the scenes.
Kim Young-kwang revealed that while portraying the character Moon Baek, who harbors deep-seated revenge, he expressed both a childlike playfulness and a chilling villainous aspect simultaneously.
Kim Young-kwang explained, "The character Moon Baek has a dual nature." He added, "At first, I wanted to appear like a strange kid, a 'child' who suddenly appears in front of Lee Do, and I was glad that I could make the villain's terrifying side attractive behind that."
Moon Baek's mischievous impression was particularly evident in his lines and facial expressions. Kim Young-kwang shared, "I felt very embarrassed saying lines like 'Moon Baek is...' referring to myself in the third person, but the director insisted strongly, so I did it a few times," revealing behind-the-scenes stories from the shoot.
He also said with a smile, "The famous line is indeed 'Moon Baek doesn't hold back.' People seem to like this line more than other great lines."

To portray the character's gradual decline in health due to his terminal condition, Kim Young-kwang actively contributed his opinions on styling as well.
He explained, "I naturally have a lot of gray hair, so I kept that and even dyed some parts whiter." He continued, "As the drama progresses from the beginning to the end, my makeup became more haggard, while my outfits became more extravagant, expressing a desire to hide myself."
Kim Young-kwang is currently active in various works across genres. He made a special appearance in the SBS drama 〈Gwigung〉 this year, and in September, he is set to act alongside Lee Young-ae in the KBS 2TV drama 〈Eunsu Good Day〉. Additionally, in October, he will meet audiences with the comedy film 〈First Ride〉, and he has been cast as the lead in the Netflix series 〈Charge Me Up〉.
Kim Young-kwang stated, "I am doing good works without specifically setting criteria or genres." He expressed, "I want to appear in more diverse works, and if given the opportunity, I would like to act in fantasy works like 〈Planet of the Apes〉 or 〈Maze Runner〉, playing characters with a lot of makeup."
