Netflix's flagship Korean content 〈Squid Game〉 Season 3 has firmly maintained its position at number one in the non-English show category even in its fifth week of release.
According to Netflix's official site 'Netflix Top 10', from the 21st to the 27th, 〈Squid Game 3〉 recorded 4.6 million views (28.59 million viewing hours), making it the most-watched non-English show during that period.
Since its premiere on the 27th of last month, 〈Squid Game 3〉 has not lost its number one spot for five consecutive weeks.
As of now, the cumulative view count for 〈Squid Game 3〉 has reached 134.7 million. This figure ranks third in the history of non-English shows when comparing performance over the first 91 days after release.
In the same category, the first place is held by 〈Squid Game 1〉 with 265.2 million views, and the second place is 〈Squid Game 2〉 with 192.6 million views.
Meanwhile, the newly released 〈Trigger〉 starring Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang has risen to fourth place in the non-English show category with 2.9 million views.
The rise of Korean content is also notable in the non-English film category. 〈84 Square Meters〉 starring Kang Ha-neul has been selected as the most-watched content among Netflix's non-English films last week with 7.8 million views.
〈84 Square Meters〉 has topped the charts in six countries including Japan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Morocco, gaining widespread acclaim.
In particular, Kang Ha-neul plays a significant character, Dae-ho, in 〈Squid Game 3〉, achieving the rare feat of having his works simultaneously reach number one in both the non-English film and show categories.
