Xdinary Heroes releases 'IMPULSE' on the 12th, first move after becoming a five-member band

A self-portrait of unsettled youth, confronting desire head-on

The band 'Xdinary Heroes' will release its ninth mini album, 'IMPULSE', at 6 p.m. on the 12th. JYP Entertainment said the new release is the group's first musical work since it was reorganized as a five-member band following drummer 'Gunil''s departure last August.

The album's central message is 'desire'. The members focused on translating the wide range of human emotions into musical language. A philosophical idea runs throughout the tracks: "Accept every emotion that comes your way as it is, whether positive or negative, and do not deny what lies within."

The new album, 'IMPULSE', contains seven tracks, led by the title song 'Obsessed with Youth', along with 'Give Up The Ghost', 'Slashhh!', 'u and me in arguments' and 'You Right There'.

The title song, 'Obsessed with Youth', centers on youth and longing. It depicts the exhilaration unique to youth, the instability beneath it and the brilliant moments that gradually fade away through dynamic band sounds.

Reflecting on the creative process, the members said, "We became even more immersed because it connected with who we are now, rocking between opposing emotions." They added, "Compared with our previous work, we focused on creating a fresher, brighter atmosphere and naturally bringing out the energy generated by each member's playing and vocals." Rather than pursuing perfectly polished technique, they chose to express the raw emotions of the present moment in full, even if the result felt somewhat rough around the edges.

Xdinary Heroes has demonstrated its strong live abilities on major stages at home and abroad, including Lollapalooza Chicago in the United States, the opening act for British band Muse's concert in South Korea and the Busan International Rock Festival. "Performing at Lollapalooza, a major overseas festival, was the realization of a dream we had held for a long time and an unforgettable, deeply moving experience," the members said. They vowed to unleash that overwhelming energy again through their activities for the new album.
