Second act begins for star of the 'new-town mom' phenomenon

Comedian 'Park Se-mi' (36) will walk down the aisle this month after a serious relationship of more than two years.

Her agency, 'Meta Comedy', announced Park Se-mi's marriage in an official statement on the 12th. Her fiancé is a 'non-celebrity' one year younger than her. The couple met through an acquaintance and have been dating for about two years, according to the agency.

Park Se-mi shared her heartfelt reaction directly with fans on 'social media (SNS)' that day. Alongside wedding photos, she wrote, "I've found my best buddy to play with, laugh with and eat delicious food with for the rest of our lives. I'm finally getting married," bringing her signature upbeat energy to the post.

A former member of the comedy troupe 'Gag King', Park Se-mi built a strong comedic foundation through the YouTube channel 'Baekma TV' and 'Psick University'. She shot to stardom after perfectly portraying 'Seojun Mom' (Ryu In-na), a young mother who lives in a new town and raises her son, on '05 Class Is Here', a signature segment of 'Psick University'. Her hyper-realistic performance resonated deeply with audiences. She earned recognition from both critics and the public, including a nomination for Best Female Variety Performer in the television category at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2023, establishing herself as one of the leading comedians of her generation.

More recently, she has maintained a busy schedule across new and traditional media, appearing on the tvN health variety show 'Time Observer: The Secret'. She is expected to remain active in a wide range of projects after her marriage.
