K-content makes inroads in North America's streaming market, maximizing access through smart TV platforms

The 'FAST' (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) model, which has been growing rapidly in North America and other global media markets, allows viewers to enjoy live broadcasts while watching ads instead of paying a subscription fee. 'Arirang TV's' new channel will be distributed through 'K-Bingers', a streaming platform dedicated to K-content in North America. As a result, local viewers can easily access Korean cultural programming without a separate sign-up process on major smart TV devices, including those made by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.

The newly launched 'Arirang K-Culture' channel will focus on showcasing the diverse appeal of Korea, including its cuisine and tourism. Its lineup will include 'Hantasia', hosted by chef Lee Won-il, as well as 'The Art of Pairing', in which Italian chef Fabrizio Ferrari explores the appeal of Korean ingredients. Media experts say the channel's launch could mark an important turning point in solidifying the K-culture fandom in North America and broadening the reach of Korean culture.
