Lezhin Snack original short drama 〈Wild Eyes: The Woman of the Prince〉 (directed by Jo Ba-reun) has confirmed an exclusive Nov. 18 release at Lotte Cinema and unveiled its release poster on the 27th. Lezhin Entertainment and Film Company Up produced the film, with Kidari Studio distributing and Sambaek Sanghoe co-distributing.

Based on the popular Lezhin Comics webtoon of the same name (written by Yook Mi-hwa, illustrated by Sora and based on an original work by Ra-hye), 〈Wild Eyes: The Woman of the Prince〉 made its debut on the Lezhin Snack short-form drama platform on Oct. 22 before announcing its move to the big screen. Following 〈Father’s Home-Cooked Meals〉, it is the second Lezhin Snack production to receive a theatrical release. Reworked from a vertical short drama watched on mobile devices in separate episodes into a single theatrical feature, it aims to offer audiences a new viewing experience.

The fusion historical romance follows Eun-woo (Chuu), an assassin who infiltrates the palace disguised as a court lady to kill Crown Prince Lee Hyun (Sung Joon), known as “Wild Eyes” for his frenzied gaze. Instead, she falls in love with him. Director Jo Ba-reun said, “I wanted to preserve the original work’s blend of danger and heart-fluttering romance,” adding, “Audiences will be able to fully enjoy the imagery shaped by the beauty of sunlight, moonlight and candlelight, the lavish palace production design and the thrilling sword-fighting action on the theater’s big screen.”

The cast is also drawing anticipation. Sung Joon plays Crown Prince Lee Hyun, who saved the nation but lives a precarious life because of his father the king’s jealousy, subtly portraying the shifts in his emotions. Chuu brings endearing charm to Eun-woo, a bumbling assassin unfamiliar with palace etiquette and romance. Moon Ji-hoon (Swings) adds energy as Nam Hyul, the crown prince’s only friend and bodyguard, while Kim Eung-soo lends weighty tension as the powerful Lord Yeongsang.

〈Wild Eyes: The Woman of the Prince〉, a film about a tender, perilous palace romance that blossoms at the point of a blade meant to kill, opens exclusively at Lotte Cinema locations nationwide on Nov. 18.
