[BIFAN 2026] Enjoy Bucheon 30 Years 100 Times ③ Lee Choon-yeon Film Award returns, new International Federation of Film Critics prize, and the July Carnival

Kim Se-hoon and Gu Jeong-a will receive the “Lee Choon-yeon Film Award,” and a “FIPRESCI Award for International Film Critics” will also be introduced (FIPRESCI Award).
Two awards will be newly introduced. The 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (executive committee chair Shin Cheol, BIFAN) will bring back the “Lee Choon-yeon Film Award” this year and also introduce the “International Federation of Film Critics Award” .

On the occasion of its 30th edition, the festival announced the start of its three-year project, “Asian Genre Films 99” (Asian Genre Films 99).
Above all, it’s a genre festival. For its 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Chairman Shin Chul, hereafter BIFAN), the festival screens 321 films from 50 countries (170 feature films, 85 short films, 38 AI titles, and 28 XR titles), and of these 93 are world premieres.

Inaugural Korea Short Drama Awards Names Five-Member Jury

Co-hosted by Cineplay and the Korean Film Archive, the inaugural Korea Short Drama Awards carry a total prize pool of 20 million won. The five-member jury is chaired by Min Kyu-dong and also includes Korean Film Archive Director Mo Eun-young; Han Jung-soo, director and CEO of Yeondu Company; Kim Won-jin, director of MCA AI Creative Studio's Creative Headquarters; and actor Lee Yeon. The Archive has pledged archiving support for winners, and organizers say the awards aim to discover new creators and help the short-drama industry take a step forward.
The inaugural Korea Short Drama Awards, which carry a total prize pool of 20 million won, have named a five-member jury. Cineplay (CEO Choi Tae-hyung) and the Korean Film Archive (Director Mo Eun-young) are co-hosting the first Korea Short Drama Awards.
