Blackpink's Jennie and BTS members have completely taken over Spotify's Global K-POP rankings for the first half of 2025. In the rankings announced on the 21st, Jennie's 'Like JENNIE' took 1st place, while BTS's Jin's 'Don't Say You Love Me' secured 2nd place, elevating the status of Korean music.
This ranking only accounts for streaming outside of Korea, showcasing true overseas popularity. Jennie secured 9 out of the total 30 songs, solidifying her status as the solo queen, and J-Hope also ranked 4th with 'MONA LISA'.
Notably, 19 out of the TOP 30 songs are solo tracks. This indicates that the members have individually dominated the global market during the hiatus of BTS and Blackpink's group activities.
Global collaborations were also active. Jennie collaborated with Dochi, Dominic Fike, and Dua Lipa, while J-Hope showcased crossover works with Miguel and Pharrell Williams.
A music industry insider analyzed, 'Korean artists are being recognized as global pop artists beyond the K-POP genre,' and 'the diversity of solo activities is captivating audiences worldwide.'
