Director Yoon Ga-eun, who gained attention both domestically and internationally with the films 〈Our Body〉 and 〈Our Home〉, is presenting her new work 〈The Master of the World〉 for the first time in six years, which has been invited to the competition section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival.

Distributor Barunson E&A announced that 〈The Master of the World〉 has become the first Korean film to enter the competition section 'Platform' at the Toronto Film Festival. The film will have its world premiere at this festival held in Canada in September.

〈The Master of the World〉 depicts the process in which the world of those around is shaken by a single remark made by an unpredictable 18-year-old high school girl, Joo-in (played by Seo Soo-bin).

Director Yoon Ga-eun stated, "This is a cherished story made with all my heart alongside shining actors and crew," and added, "I hope you enjoy an exciting adventure following the characters in the film."

Giovanna Fulvi, the senior programmer of the Toronto Film Festival, evaluated Director Yoon by saying, "She delicately captures the growing pains of adolescence and deeply portrays the journey of an individual finding resilience and agency within intimate family relationships." He further added, "It is an honor to present the new work of such a creative director for the first time in Toronto."

〈The Master of the World〉 is expected to meet audiences in domestic theaters in the second half of the year after its screening at the Toronto Film Festival.
