Legendary Band Returns After 40 Years, 'Spinal Tap 2' Trailer Released

The legendary band 'Spinal Tap' is making a comeback after 40 years with 〈Spinal Tap 2〉(Spinal Tap II: The End Continues).

Spinal Tap is a fictional band that appears in the mockumentary 〈This Is Spinal Tap〉. Directed by Rob Reiner, this film follows the American tour of the heavy metal band Spinal Tap, which was formed in the 1960s, but it is actually a mockumentary with entirely fictional settings. However, the actors' realistic performances and the high-quality music led to the band gaining enough popularity that the actors later performed as this band.

Now, 〈Spinal Tap 2〉 has released a trailer showcasing the band 40 years later, announcing their return in September 2025. The trailer features a special appearance by Paul McCartney and shows the completely changed appearances of the Spinal Tap members, sparking curiosity. The scene where they struggle to find a drummer due to the curse of drummers dying each time elicited laughter from original fans.

〈Spinal Tap 2〉 will be released in North America on September 12. The release date in South Korea is currently undecided.
