“K-Pop Demon Hunters” continues its momentum with a second video joining the “100 million views club.”
The Netflix original K-Pop Demon Hunters tells the story of the “Huntrix,” K-pop idols who double as demon hunters, and the “Reaper Boys,” grim reapers disguised as idols who oppose them. As the first overseas animation to feature K-pop idols as main characters, the film was released on Netflix on June 20 and has remained in the top spots of the platform’s movie rankings ever since.
Proving its popularity, the film’s OST has also gained significant attention. Both the inserted and original songs have made their mark, even appearing on the Billboard charts. Notably, the theme song “Golden” surpassed 100 million views on July 28, followed by the opening track “How It’s Done,” which hit the 100 million mark on August 6.
Riding this wave of success, K-Pop Demon Hunters has already announced two sequels and a live-action film in the works. As of August 6, the movie has climbed to 4th place on Netflix’s all-time movie rankings, surpassing The Adam Project.
