SEVENTEEN Donates 350 Million Won to UNESCO for 'World Youth Day'

The group SEVENTEEN announced on the 13th that they donated $250,000 (approximately 350 million won) to UNESCO in celebration of 'World Youth Day' on August 12.

This donation was raised through the 'JOOPITER presents: sacai x SEVENTEEN' charity auction and will be used to strengthen the Global Youth Fund established by SEVENTEEN and UNESCO.

First K-pop UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador

SEVENTEEN is currently active as a UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador. They were invited to speak and perform at the 13th 'UNESCO Youth Forum' held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, making them the first K-pop artists to do so in 2023.

Last year, they were appointed as UNESCO's first Youth Goodwill Ambassadors, and on this occasion, they donated $1 million (approximately 1.39 billion won) to create a fund to enhance the creativity of youth around the world.

Youth Support Project Operation

The fund established by SEVENTEEN is being used to support self-directed projects of 100 youth groups for a better future. This is a practical support measure to help young people around the world realize their creative ideas.

SEVENTEEN stated, "Since our debut, we have grown by expressing the colorful moments of youth through music infused with sincere experiences and emotions, so the meaning of World Youth Day is even more special to us."

They continued, "We send a message of encouragement to all young people around the world who are still pursuing their dreams," conveying their support for the youth.

New World Tour Begins

SEVENTEEN will kick off their new world tour 'NEW_' starting from Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on the 13th and 14th of next month. They are actively continuing their music activities along with social contribution activities.
