Actress Kwon Yuri Selected as Ambassador for the 10th Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival

The Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival announced on the 18th that it has selected actress Kwon Yuri as the ambassador 'Umpinist' for its 10th edition.

'Umpinist' is a unique title for the ambassador of the Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival. It is a compound word that combines the festival's English initials UMFF (Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival) and 'Alpinist', which refers to climbers who uphold the spirit and tradition of mountaineers, encapsulating the identity of the festival.

Kwon Yuri debuted as a member of the girl group Girls' Generation and has since expanded her career into acting. She has portrayed various characters in dramas such as 'Bossam: Steal the Fate', 'Good Job', and 'Parole Officer Lee Han-shin', and has appeared in several films including 'Dolphin' and 'Invasion'.

A festival official explained, "The authentic journey and strong inner self that actress Kwon Yuri has walked align with the message of challenge and courage that the Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival aims to convey," explaining the reason for her selection.

The Umpinist appointment ceremony will take place on the 20th at a press conference held in the Citizen Hall of Ulsan City Hall. Kwon Yuri is scheduled to serve as the host at the festival's opening ceremony on September 26, where she will meet the audience directly.
