Studio Ghibli Masterpiece 'Princess Mononoke' to be Released in IMAX 4K Remastered Version!

Hayao Miyazaki's representative work 〈Princess Mononoke〉 reunites with audiences on the IMAX big screen after 27 years. The distributor Daewon Media announced on the 19th that the IMAX 4K remastered version of this work will be released on the 10th of next month.

First released in 1997, 〈Princess Mononoke〉 tells the grand narrative of the protagonist 'Ashitaka', who is cursed by the god of disaster, meeting the princess 'San' and fighting for the coexistence of humans and nature. At that time, it recorded the number one spot at the Japanese box office and was evaluated as a masterpiece representing Miyazaki's worldview.

This IMAX screening holds special significance as it is the first large format screening of a Studio Ghibli work in 4K remastered format. The official release date for the general theater 4K remastered version is September 17, but it will meet audiences a week earlier in IMAX format.
