
MBC ‘I Live Alone’ has recorded the overall genre No. 1 in the weekly 2049 ratings for the 3rd week of August 2025, continuing its streak of being No. 1 for three consecutive weeks.
In the episode aired on the 22nd, 'I Live Alone' (directed by Heo Hang, Kang Ji-hee, Kim Jin-kyung, Lee Kyung-eun, Moon Gi-young) featured Lee Jang-woo scuba diving in the blue sea of Goseong, Gangwon Province, and Lee Joo-seung transforming into a 'Dinosaur Scholar'.
According to the ratings research company Nielsen Korea, the key 2049 rating for 'I Live Alone' was 3.5% (based on the metropolitan area), securing the No. 1 spot among all programs aired on Friday, as well as being the top-rated program of the past week.
The highlight of the episode was Lee Jang-woo, who made a splash in the sea after 7 years of not scuba diving. The mysterious underwater scenery filled with numerous sea urchins, cute jellyfish, starfish, and coral reefs captivated viewers, with the peak rating soaring to 7.9%.
To dive again after 7 years, Lee Jang-woo headed to his hideout in Goseong, Gangwon Province. He was so passionate about the sea that he earned an instructor certification, which requires over 300 dives. He met actress Ha Jae-sook, with whom he used to enjoy diving, and reminisced as 'Dugong Siblings'. Later, Lee Jang-woo transformed into a 'Dugong Chef', cooking the taste of the living sea for Ha Jae-sook and her husband, bringing them to tears.
Lee Joo-seung's 'Dinosaur Exploration Life' also piqued viewers' curiosity. Visiting a natural history museum, he listened to the explanations of a child docent known as the 'Dinosaur Doctor', immersing himself in the wondrous 'World of Dinosaurs'. At home, he excavated dinosaur bones using a fossil excavation kit and decorated his room with various dinosaur merchandise, showing his pure affection for dinosaurs.
