‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - Infinity Castle Arc’ has shown unprecedented performance in the sensory experience special theater 4DX, demonstrating remarkable box office success. According to CGV on the 27th, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - Infinity Castle Arc’ recorded an audience rate of over 90% in 4DX during its opening weekend. This surpasses the record set by ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ for the highest performance during an opening weekend. The audience rates for IMAX and Dolby Atmos also approached 80%, highlighting the box office success in technology-special theaters.

‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - Infinity Castle Arc’ opened with the highest opening score of the year, making a spectacular debut. On the first day of its release on the 22nd, it attracted 510,000 viewers, and within five days of its release, it surpassed a cumulative audience of 2 million. Reviews on the CGV mobile app included comments like, “Watching it in 4DX made every action scene come alive,” and “The grand scale and overwhelming sound of IMAX are unforgettable,” as well as feedback such as, “The 4DX was sold out, so I watched it in a regular theater, but I want to see it again in 4DX,” encouraging special theater viewings and anticipating continued demand for repeat viewings.

This craze has carried over from ‘F1® The Movie,’ which was released at the end of June and attracted 4.5 million viewers, driving the 4DX box office success. With the addition of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - Infinity Castle Arc,’ it is analyzed that another 4DX syndrome is being created in theaters by 2025.

Thanks to this box office success, merchandise has also been selling out. From the day of release, various character metal keyrings featuring 12 characters were produced, along with ‘Reusable Cups & Mini Acrylic Keyrings’ depicting Tanjiro and his friends, and ‘Character Folding Fans’ featuring all 12 characters, most of which have already been sold out over the weekend.

In addition, a café offering various collaboration menus is operating at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall, delighting the eyes and taste buds of the audience. At the collaboration café, you can find the ‘Tanjiro Drink’ with a green grape flavor reflecting Tanjiro's main color, ‘Azaka Hot Dog’ utilizing Azaka's main color pink, and ‘Giyu Hot Dog’ featuring blue, which symbolizes Giyu. Additionally, you can enjoy ‘Chocolate Cookies’ that come with cards featuring famous lines from the movie, showcasing the characters' traits. The collaboration café will be open at the 7th floor Popcorn Lab of CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall until the 11th of next month. The success of ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - Infinity Castle Arc’ is completed with an expanded experience that goes beyond movie viewing, including special theaters, merchandise, and collaboration cafés.

CJ CGV's Jo Jin-ho, head of domestic business, stated, “We are enhancing the immersion of the work through special theaters and presenting various merchandise and collaboration cafés, creating a new movie consumption culture that combines fandom culture and theater experience,” and added, “We will continue to provide programs that allow customers to enjoy the movie's worldview in diverse ways.”
