This year, the Korean original musical 'Maybe Happy Ending', which won 6 categories at the Tony Awards in the United States and gained global attention, is being made into a movie to meet domestic audiences.

Kino Film announced on the 3rd that the musical film 〈Maybe Happy Ending〉 will be exclusively released at Megabox on the 2nd of next month. This work is based on the musical of the same name, telling the story of a robot named Oliver, created to help humans, who falls in love with Claire in a near-future Seoul.

In the movie, actors Shin Joo-hyup and Kang Hye-in, who collaborated in the 2018 musical 'Maybe Happy Ending', reunite as Oliver and Claire, respectively. Actor Yoo Jun-sang plays the role of James, Oliver's former owner, and the direction is handled by Director Lee Won-hwa.

The original musical 'Maybe Happy Ending' is a work co-created by Park Cheon-hyu and Will Aronson, which made its debut on Broadway in New York last year through overseas production teams and cast. At this year's Tony Awards, it won a total of 6 categories, including Best Musical, proving the status of Korean original musicals on a global scale.
