The secret of the serial killer is revealed. On the 4th, a press conference for the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 〈Mantis: The Killer's Outing〉 was held at the SBS headquarters in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu. Director Byun Young-joo and actors Go Hyun-jung, Jang Dong-yoon, Jo Sung-ha, and Lee El attended. 〈Mantis: The Killer's Outing〉 is a high-density crime thriller where, 20 years after the brutal serial killer 'Mantis' Jung Yi-shin (Go Hyun-jung) was caught, copycat crimes occur, and her son, detective Cha Soo-yeol (Jang Dong-yoon), who has hated 'Mantis' all his life, unexpectedly teams up with his mother to solve the case. Directed by Byun Young-joo of 〈The Housemaid〉 and written by Lee Young-jong of 〈Spring in Seoul〉, 〈Mantis: The Killer's Outing〉 is expected to showcase the essence of crime mystery thrillers with its meticulous story and stylish direction.

At the press conference, director Byun Young-joo said about actress Go Hyun-jung, "As soon as I read the script, I thought of Go Hyun-jung. I have loved her dramas for a long time. I approached the work expecting a face of Go Hyun-jung that I had never imagined before," and expressed gratitude for actor Jang Dong-yoon, who plays the son of Mantis, saying, "I really liked Jang Dong-yoon's drama 〈Flowers Bloom in the Sand〉, and he expressed a character that is bright and clear but has sadness well." He shared behind-the-scenes stories about Jo Sung-ha and Lee El, saying, "I cast Jo Sung-ha as a former detective who was fired due to corruption during 〈The Housemaid〉, but this time I wanted to create a good detective, a good civil servant uncle," and "I cheered with the writer when Lee El, whom I have been a fan of for a long time, was confirmed for casting." Finally, he made the press conference enjoyable by saying, "I want to be the most beloved director at SBS."
