The 26th Jeju Women’s Film Festival Opens on September 24

39 works from 13 countries will be screened, with a variety of programs to support women creators

The 26th Jeju Women’s Film Festival will kick off on the 24th at Lotte Cinema Jeju Yeondong. This film festival will run for a total of 5 days until the 28th.

According to Jeju Island, this festival is hosted by the Jeju Women’s Association and sponsored by Jeju Island, and it will be held under the theme ‘We Stand on Different Paths and Rise.’ During the festival, a total of 39 works from 13 countries will be screened, and among them, representatives from 21 works will participate in various programs such as audience talks (GV), discussions, special talks, and audience interactions.

In particular, 10 finalists for the short film competition ‘Yomangjin Selected Works’ for emerging women creators will be screened, and the audience jury and judges will jointly select the award winners to be announced at the closing ceremony.

The opening film has been selected as ‘Sumbi Sound’ directed by Lee Eun-jung. This work was selected in the non-competitive section of the festival, ‘Invitation for Jeju Regional Works.’ The closing film has been decided as the documentary ‘Pink Moon’ directed by Yoon Han-seok.

In addition, various side events such as the opening performance, trailer screenings, and award ceremonies will also take place. Tickets for the film festival can be purchased online through Naver Reservation or on-site.
