〈The Conjuring: The Last Rites〉 has made headlines with its record-breaking box office performance.

The final installment of the 〈The Conjuring〉 series, 〈The Conjuring: The Last Rites〉, was released in Korea on September 3 and in North America on September 5. This film, which deals with the occult exorcists, the Warrens, facing the most powerful evil spirit and performing the last rites, is a sequel that returns after four years since 〈The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It〉.

〈The Conjuring: The Last Rites〉 broke all-time records as soon as it was released. It recorded a worldwide gross of $194 million, surpassing the previous all-time horror opening record of $190 million set by 〈It〉.

However, looking at the records in Korea alone, it is somewhat disappointing, as the audience turnout is lower compared to previous installments during the same period. 〈The Conjuring: The Last Rites〉 surpassed 250,000 viewers on its sixth day of release, which is not a small number according to current theater trends, but it is meager compared to 400,000 (Part 3), 700,000 (Part 2), and 800,000 (Part 1).
