Seventeen's S.Coups X Mingyu Unit Debut! First Mini Album 'Hype Vibes' to be Released on the 29th

The new unit S.Coups X Mingyu of the group Seventeen will release their first mini album 'Hype Vibes' on the 29th, as announced by their agency Pledis Entertainment on the 28th.

The title track '5, 4, 3' is a reinterpretation of Roy Orbison's classic song 'Oh, Pretty Woman' using the interpolation technique. Interpolation is a music production technique that involves reinterpreting and recording specific elements of existing music. This song expresses honest feelings of love towards someone who feels a strong attraction, combined with a lively disco sound.

S.Coups and Mingyu directly participated in the lyrics and composition process of all six tracks included in the album, including the title track. The two members stated through their agency, "We wanted to show an honest and natural side without embellishment," and added, "The working process was as free as that."

They conveyed, "Through 'Hype Vibes', we hope to meet our new possibilities and fresh colors." They also mentioned, "Since this album is filled with music we want to create, we felt a lot of excitement every time content was released," and added, "Please look forward to the various activities of S.Coups X Mingyu that will unfold in the future."

S.Coups X Mingyu will make their first performance of the new song on Mnet's 'M Countdown' on the 2nd of next month. Additionally, from the 30th, a pop-up store to celebrate the album release will be operated on the 6th floor of The Corner in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
