
SBS ‘Space Mary Me’ Choi Woo-shik is drawing viewers' attention by sharing the reasons and determination behind his choice of work.
The new SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Space Mary Me’, which will premiere on October 10, is a sweet yet intense 90-day fake marriage between two people trying to secure a luxurious newlywed home, raising expectations for a solid acting synergy between the reliable actor Choi Woo-shik (playing Kim Woo-joo) and the rom-com undefeated Jung So-min (playing Yu Mary).
On the 30th, ‘Space Mary Me’ revealed a written interview with Choi Woo-shik, who plays Kim Woo-joo, the perfect bread spoon of Korea's first bakery. In particular, Choi Woo-shik heightened expectations by hinting at a perfect chemistry score of 100 with Jung So-min through the written interview.
Choi Woo-shik stated, “I was curious about how the events that Woo-joo and Mary experience would unfold and the end of the story,” and added, “Working with Director Song Hyun-wook and actress Jung So-min was also a big expectation,” revealing that he chose ‘Space Mary Me’ due to the exciting script, Song Hyun-wook's directing skills, and the collaboration with Jung So-min.
In particular, Choi Woo-shik evaluated his chemistry score with Jung So-min as “100 points,” generating anticipation for their chemistry. He praised Jung So-min's acting ability, saying, “The most meaningful thing about being together in ‘Space Mary Me’ was getting to know ‘actress Jung So-min’. She acts skillfully in any scene on set, and there’s so much to learn as a co-actor.”
Choi Woo-shik picked the first meeting scene between Woo-joo and Mary as the most memorable scene, saying, “If such a thing happened in reality, it might not be a beautiful first meeting, but it’s a striking scene that remains in memory,” and added, “I hope viewers look forward to the starting point of Woo-joo and Mary, who have become inseparable.”
Regarding his character Kim Woo-joo, the fourth heir of the prestigious Myung-soon-dang, he explained, “He is a person who grew up not receiving much love and is very lonely,” and added, “He may seem indifferent on the outside, but he is serious and a warm person who loves Mary more than anyone and believes in destiny,” highlighting the charm points of his character and raising expectations for Choi Woo-shik's transformation into a humanly charming chaebol.
Finally, Choi Woo-shik stated, “‘Space Mary Me’ will offer fun in various genres, not just rom-com, but also human, mystery, and con artist genres. I ask for a lot of interest in the new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Space Mary Me’ that everyone, young and old, can enjoy.”
