As a sequel to 〈Ghost in the Shell〉, Mamoru Oshii's work 〈Innocence〉 is recognized for achieving remarkable accomplishments in animation and has announced its 20th anniversary 4K remaster release on October 29, unveiling the main poster. 〈Innocence〉 is a sci-fi animation where Bato and Togusa, investigating a case of a gynoid killing a human, confront questions about the essence of 'being human' during their pursuit of the truth.

〈Innocence〉 is the sequel to the 1995 animation 〈Ghost in the Shell〉, which thrilled sci-fi fans worldwide, and takes place in 2032, three years after the story of 〈Ghost in the Shell〉, focusing on Bato from Public Security Section 9, who is filling the void left by the missing Major Motoko Kusanagi. With its unique and realistic visuals combining 2D animation and 3D graphics, it became the first animated film to compete in the Cannes Film Festival in 2004, exploring the boundaries between humans and machines, and delving deeper into philosophical questions of consciousness and existence, thereby expanding the scope of animation. After 20 years since its official release in 2004, 〈Innocence〉 is set to make a screen comeback, captivating audiences with its enhanced mise-en-scène through 4K remastering.

The main poster released alongside the news of the October 29 release heightens curiosity about the film, contrasting the appearance of a robot with a human form and the warm gaze of a Basset Hound. Director Mamoru Oshii continues to pose questions from his previous work 〈Ghost in the Shell〉 to 〈Innocence〉, such as "What does it mean to be human?", "Can one be considered human if they possess a ghost (soul)?", and "Can we say that humans are superior to other life forms?", continuing the discussion on the psychological unease arising from the combination of humans and machines and the imperfection of humanity.
