

On October 22, director Yoon Ga-eun's new film 〈Master of the World〉 released a recommendation video from director Jia Zhangke. This fall, Yoon Ga-eun's new film 〈Master of the World〉 is considered one of the most anticipated films, having received warm support and endorsement from master Jia Zhangke following director Hirokazu Kore-eda. 〈Master of the World〉 tells the story of an enigmatic eighteen-year-old high school girl 'Juin' who begins to receive mysterious notes after refusing to participate in a signature campaign involving the entire student body. It is the first and only Korean film invited to the Platform section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, and it has been receiving a relay of love calls from prestigious international film festivals, having swept two awards at the 9th Pingyao International Film Festival.

Director Jia Zhangke, a master who has won all three major film festivals with films 〈Still Life〉, 〈Platform〉, and 〈A Touch of Sin〉, expressed his honor in being able to introduce Yoon Ga-eun's 〈Master of the World〉 to Asian audiences for the first time through the Pingyao International Film Festival he founded. He also mentioned that 〈Master of the World〉 received a hot response among young audiences at the film festival, stating, "〈Master of the World〉 was selected as the best work by the jury and audience votes at the Pingyao International Film Festival. He sent congratulations for winning two awards, including the Roberto Rossellini Jury Award and the Audience Award at the Pingyao International Film Festival.
