Director Park Chan-wook of the film 〈No Other Choice〉 won the Best Director award at the 58th Sitges Film Festival.

At the 58th Sitges Film Festival, which concluded on the 19th, Director Park Chan-wook of the film 〈No Other Choice〉 achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Best Director award. The Sitges Film Festival is the largest genre film festival in the world, held in Spain, and it is an international film festival that highlights the value of various genre films with original imagination and high quality, including fantasy and horror. Director Park Chan-wook has a long-standing relationship with the Sitges Film Festival, having won the Best Film award for 〈Oldboy〉 (2004, competition section), the FX Work award for 〈Three, Monster〉 (2004, competition section), the Best Screenplay award for 〈I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK〉 (2007, competition section), the Best Film award for 〈The Handmaiden〉 (2017, competition section), and the Audience Award for 〈The Handmaiden〉 (2017, competition section).

〈No Other Choice〉 tells the story of an office worker, 'Mansu' (Lee Byung-hun), who feels that he has achieved everything in life and is satisfied, but suddenly gets fired. To protect his wife and two children and to keep the house he worked hard to acquire, he prepares for his own war towards re-employment. The film 〈No Other Choice〉 is currently showing in Korean theaters.
