On the 21st, CGV announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Creative Content Agency (hereinafter referred to as Korea Creative Content Agency) on the 17th at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall to revitalize the theater screening of K-Animation and expand contact points with audiences.
Through this agreement, both parties plan to comprehensively cooperate in promoting and marketing K-Animation theater screenings to support more audiences in experiencing various K-Animations in theaters. It is expected that this cooperation will invigorate the overall domestic animation industry and lead to follow-up projects such as the release of works that receive high audience responses in the future.
Next month, a planning exhibition titled ‘K-Animation Planning Screening’ will be jointly held, showcasing selected works from the animation production support projects of the Korea Creative Content Agency in theaters. The ‘K-Animation Planning Screening’ is expected to provide audiences with a deeper immersion by screening Korean animations in theaters equipped with large screens and rich sound, while offering small animation production companies new distribution opportunities through theater screenings.
Lee Hyun-joo, Head of Content IP Promotion Division at Korea Creative Content Agency, stated, “I hope that more audiences will enjoy K-Animation in theaters through this cooperation,” and added, “We will continue to expand the public base and recognition of Korean animation by utilizing various distribution channels.”
Ko Jae-soo, Head of Cinema Business Division at CGV, said, “The theater is the space where the story and emotions of the content can be felt most deeply,” and expressed his hope that “through this agreement, K-Animation will continue to grow centered around theater screenings and meet more audiences.”
