SBS's new variety show ‘Passionate Basketball Team’ (Team Name: Rising Eagles) will hold a large-scale local match at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on October 26. This match, where K-POP, basketball, and global fandom come together, is the program's first overseas game and is expected to be held in a massive venue with approximately 15,000 seats.
‘Passionate Basketball Team’ is scheduled to depart for the Philippines via Incheon International Airport on October 24. Under the direction of coach Seo Jang-hoon, stars from various fields such as idols and actors come together to create a real basketball variety show, which has already garnered significant attention from overseas fans even before its domestic broadcast.
In particular, the Philippines is a country where basketball is referred to as “the national ball game,” showcasing a strong passion for the sport. With the added global influence of K-POP, the local popularity of ‘Passionate Basketball Team’ has reached explosive levels.
This match goes beyond simple variety filming and has the character of a national competition between the Korean and Philippine celebrity basketball teams. ‘Passionate Basketball Team’ (Team Name: Rising Eagles) will represent Korea, while the opposing team is an all-star basketball team composed of Philippine celebrities (Kuys Showtime). With national pride on the line, a fierce competition is anticipated like never before.
