BTS member V and singer Park Hyo-shin's duet song 'Winter Ahead' has surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on the global music platform Spotify, once again proving the power of K-pop.
The agency Big Hit Music announced on the 28th that 'Winter Ahead' exceeded 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify as of the 25th.
Released last November, this song achieved the remarkable feat of 500 million streams on Spotify in about a year since its release. This marks the fourth 500 million streaming record among V's solo songs, following 'Love Me Again', 'Slow Dancing', and others.
'Winter Ahead' is a jazz pop genre that features a blend of saxophone, trumpet, and dreamy prepared piano performances, creating a cozy winter atmosphere. Prepared piano refers to a piano that has various objects placed inside to alter its sound.
The perfect vocal harmony between V and Park Hyo-shin received enthusiastic responses from music fans right after its release. The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart shortly after its release and was also included in Billboard's list of '27 Best Winter Songs for This Season'.
Despite currently serving in the military, V continues to showcase his presence on global charts through solo activities. In particular, he has solidified his position as a K-pop solo artist by achieving 500 million streams on Spotify four times.
Meanwhile, 'Winter Ahead' is expected to be re-highlighted on music charts as the winter season approaches.
