The film 〈3rd Year 2nd Semester〉 (The Final Semester), which has the will and power to change the world, will hold a special screening at the National Assembly on November 11 for the enactment of the Youth Labor Protection Act at the National Assembly Member's Hall.
〈3rd Year 2nd Semester〉 is a bittersweet coming-of-age drama that warmly captures the beginnings of nineteen-year-old social newcomers who carry small hopes in an unstable future and workplace. It is the latest work of director Lee Ran-hee, who has listened to the small, marginalized voices in our society through numerous short films, including her first feature film 〈Vacation〉. It has won four awards at the 29th Busan International Film Festival, three awards at the 50th Seoul Independent Film Festival, two awards at the 13th Muju Mountain Film Festival, and the Ddaengrang Coin Award at the 27th Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival, making it undoubtedly the best Korean film of the year. Through warm humanity and honest reality, it conveys deep empathy, comfort, and warm support to all newcomers in the world, touching the hearts of 18,000 viewers.
This screening is hosted by the National Assembly Labor Forum and the National Specialized High School Labor Union, and is organized by Progressive Party member Yoon Jong-oh and the Youth Progressive Party. This special screening at the National Assembly is expected to be a meaningful opportunity to seek institutional changes regarding the reality of youth labor, through the meeting of Yoon Jong-oh's awareness of the issues and the film 〈3rd Year 2nd Semester〉. A stage greeting with director Lee Ran-hee and actor Yoo I-ha is scheduled before the screening, and participation applications can be made at https://forms.gle/1MfehYrAAfKEEQq37.
